DSEi Exhibition 2015 – the Land, Sea & Air
2015 DSEI exhibition at London’s Excel promised to be the best yet – and it didn’t disappoint. The world’s largest defence and security exhibition, it’s an international platform for companies to showcase the very best in Land, Sea & Air equipment and systems.
The event played host to 30,000 attendees, including top level international military staff, major procurement officials, and the entire industry supply chain, providing a wealth of business opportunities for the entire industry.
With world-renowned conference speakers, a state-of-the-art helicopter park and a sea zone consisting of eight warships, it was a truly impressive few days.
Something that always strikes me at events like DSEI, is the amount of smaller companies working alongside the larger organisations to produce highly technical equipment for the defence industry. It’s this level of expertise and knowledge sharing that make these companies small yet hugely important cogs in a much larger machine.
As a world-class technical CGI studio specialising in Land, Sea and Air, it could be said that here at Short CGI we are also one of those cogs. The Imagery, Animation and Interactive content we put together is often just a fraction of the components that make up the end product for our clients – yet it is absolutely crucial.
You see, our clients often want to showcase something that can’t be filmed or photographed, however it’s exactly these things that need to be visualised in order to train staff or make sales. This is where we really come into our own – indeed, we’ve been producing materials for clients, including BAE Systems and Rolls Royce, to use at DSEI for several years. We’ve become experts at capturing the details that our clients need to be perfect, at events where the eyes of the international defence and security community are on them – time and time again.
And it’s this that really gives us a buzz at these events – seeing our work come to life, doing it’s job and playing an integral role in promoting client’s products and services. The CGI we produce is often a small part of a huge project, but it’s what we do best, and we do it with absolute perfection.
And if what we do best helps keep the well-oiled cogs of the industry turning, we’re proud to play our part.
