What is MIxed Reality?
Mixed Reality (MR) production is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualisations through the blending of Virtual Reality (VR) & Augmented Reality (AR) technologies. This added flexibility allows the user to view the real world while also seeing virtual objects and anchor them to a point in real space, making it possible to treat them as “real”.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg
“We’re making a long-term bet that immersive, virtual and augmented reality will become a part of people’s daily life”
Why MIxed Reality?
The increased flexibility of an MR platform allows the user to mix the real world with a virtual world while wearing a headset, freeing their hands to carry out tasks. This is particularly beneficial in enhancing training and design.
The possibilities for this technology across Aerospace, Defence, Healthcare, Retail and Visitor Attractions are endless.
